How Can I Pay for my Order - [top]

PFS Parts Ltd. offers several methods of online payment through this website, our primary means of taking payment is via SagePay, SagePay are a well established and secure UK based 'PCI DSS' compliant credit card payment processor. Using SagePay you can make payment via Visa, Mastercard, Maestro, Solo or American Express, both Debit and Credit cards can be used.

As well as SagePay, we can also accept payment via PayPal from most countries within Europe as well as several countries outside of Europe. We can also accept cheque payments and even bank transfers if this is your preferred option. Please note that Cheque and Bank transfer payments may mean some delay to your order whilst payment clears to our account.

Is My Payment Secure? - [top]

The security of your information is our number one priority. Our SSL (Secure Socket Layer) DigiCert EV (Extended Validation) certificate features cutting-edge 256-bit encryption to secure your data. With 2048-bit encryption used in the root certificate, we employ a hybrid system that employs the best features of both symmetric and asymmetric encryption. Look for the green bar at the top of your browser whenever you are in the checkout or account area of this website, this means all transmitted data is securely encrypted. It also means that PFS Parts Ltd. has undergone extensive validation before the EV certificate was issued.

Further to this PFS Parts Ltd, does not store or process any credit card information directly on this website, when you choose SagePay or PayPal as your payment option, your payment details are entered directly to and processed by these companies. Whatever payment option you choose on this website, you can be 100% confident in the safety of your details and your transaction.

PFS Parts Ltd is fully compliant with the latest e-commerce regulations and is proud to be 'PCI DSS' compliant. PCI DSS- Payment Card Industry - Data Security Standard, sets out strict minimum standards that must be adhered to by all companies handling or processing any type of credit or debit cards.

What is '3D Secure' and Why do I need it? - [top]

When you checkout, you may be required to go through addtional security (Verified by Visa or MasterCard SecureCode, also known as '3D Secure') this is an online equivalent of 'chip & pin', this is both for your protection as well as ours. If you do not have '3D Secure' set-up on your card we would strongly advise that you do this, once set-up it can be used on any other website and will not require setting up a second time.

I don't have a Credit card & I don't use PayPal, can I still place an Order? - [top]

It is preferable to pay by card in order to have the minimum possible delay with your order. However, we can also accept payment by cheque, money order or by bank transfer. Should you wish to use any of these methods simply select the relevent option when checking out on our website and forward the cheque or money order on to us. If you wish to pay via bank transfer we will email you with all of the relevant details to complete a transfer.

What currency will I be charged in and are there any costs to this? - [top]

PFS Parts Ltd. trades in the United Kingdom and as such, all transactions will be charged in GBP Sterling at the price shown in GBP on our website. We display a dynamic currency convertor on our website, this convertor uses regularly updated exchange rates to try and give you the best approximation possible in a number of different currencies. However exchange rates can and do fluctuate, if you are purchasing from outside of the UK, your card issuer may not use the same exchange rate and/or may also charge a small fee for converting a foreign transaction. It is impossible for us to know what your card company may charge you, so if you are concerned about this we would advise that you contact your card issuer for further information prior to placing an order.

I am trying to enter an address but I do not have a postcode, how can i get around this? - [top]

We are aware that certain countries, e.g. Eire do not use postcodes, yet our website insists that you enter a postcode, if you are in a country that does not use postcodes, then please simply enter '0000'. Please note that wherever possible you must enter a correct postcode, failure to do this could result in long delays and other problems with the delivery of your order.

What do you mean by Left hand or Right hand side? - [top]

Wherever parts are listed on our website as Left Hand (LH) or Right Hand (RH), this is always provided as if you are sat normally within the car. We do not use the terms 'Drivers Side' or 'Passengers Side' when listing parts, as we ship parts to many countries around the world, and this will vary depending on what country you are located in.

How can I tell if I have a LHD or RHD car? - [top]

LHD (Left Hand Drive) and RHD (Right Hand Drive) refers to the side of the car that the steering wheel is located in when you are sat facing forward in the car. Common examples of countries primarily using RHD vehicles are United Kingdom, Australia, Japan, New Zealand, India and Malaysia amongst others. Whereas excluding the UK and Cyprus, the majority of Europe as well as the USA & Canada would normally use LHD cars.

When I order a part, how do I know if it is supplied as a set or as a pair etc? - [top]

Unless otherwise stated in the product description or name of the relevent part, all items are sold singly, exceptions to this are brake pads which are always sold as an 'axle set' (meaning a set of 4 pads to cover 2 wheels) or brake discs which are generally sold as a pair unless otherwise stated. We are commonly asked if our alloy wheels are priced as a set of four, the answer is always 'no' unless it is specifically stated that the price is for a set of four.

My car was registered on the cusp of 2 years. how do I know what year to select? - [top]

We occasionally have customers tell us that their car is right on the 'cusp' of 2 model years, and therefore they do not know what year parts that they require. Your VIN or Chassis number will always reveal the exact model year of your car, there are many online 'VIN decoders' that can be found via Google, otherwise if you are unsure as to your model year please email us with your VIN/Chassis number and we can advise you.

You don't list parts for the year of my car, why is this? - [top]

The most likely explanation for this is that you have entered an incorrect model year. An example of where this can commonly happen is where your car may be registered in the autumn of one year, but the manufacturer specified model year is actually the following year. We very often find people make assumptions abut the year of their car purely based on the registration plate, as stated above it is wise to use Google to find an online 'VIN Decoder' to ascertain the correct model year of your vehicle.

Please note that all parts listed on this website use the manufacturer specified model year to identify the correct part.

What is an 'Exchange Fee' and why is it being added to the price of my order? - [top]

Certain products, for example many of the alternators or starter motors that we offer are listed together with an 'Exchange Fee', this is a core charge that is levied by the supplier/manufacturer in order to try and encourage the return of your original non functioning part. This is generally due to the fact that the part will be refurbished and reconditioned ready for re-sale. Without this core return it would not be possible for the supplier to offer this service, hence the reason for the charge. Please note that in some cases this charge may be levied by the supplier simply to try and stop the supply of core from becoming available in the aftermarket.

Where 'Exchange fees' have been charged, we will be able to refund you these fees once we receive the core items from you. As this is a refundable charge, this fee is not included within the displayed purchase price of the relevent item on our website, but is shown as a product option on the item description page, on adding the relevent product to your cart, the refundable exchange fee will also be added to the cost of the part.

Please note that it is the customers responsibility to return the core item in a serviceable condition at their own expense of return. By 'serviceable condition' we mean that the core must still be in one piece without any missing parts, must be without any cracks or physical damage to the casings or fixings, must not be fire damaged and although we understand the part will obviously not be in working order, it must be in a suitable condition for refurbishment.
